The Beefeaters, whose official name is the Yeomen Warders of Her Majestys Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, are ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London. They are often confused with the Yeomen of the Guard or Yeomen de la Guardia. Their official role is to monitor any prisoners who may be locked up in the Tower and the security of the British Crown Jewels, although in practice they are now the Tower's tourist guides, as well as one of its main attractions.
