▶ Gemelolandia presents this medal that It is a former Soviet, and currently Ukrainian, decoration, named in honor of the ataman of the Cossack Hetmanate Bogdan Khmelnitsky. The Soviet Order was established on October 10, 1943 (during World War II ) by the Presidium of the Supreme Spviet of the USSR. It disappeared after the fall of the Soviet Union. It was reestablished, this time as a Ukrainian Order, by President Leonid Kuchma to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 3, 1995.
