The Fender Stratocaster, commonly known as the Strat, is a model of electric guitar designed by Leo Fender in 1954 that is still in production today. Since its introduction, its success has been such that it has been imitated with greater or lesser success by different brands—particularly Asian ones—some of which began their journey in the business by marketing these copies. Certain models are even produced under the authorization of Fender, for example Behringer; but the shape of the guitar headstock is still patented, therefore it cannot be copied. In Squier guitars the design is exact, since they work under the standards of the original Fender factory.
