Batman's first appearance was in the story The Case of the Chemical Syndicate in Deceptive Comics #27, released by National Publications in 1939. Since then, Batman's secret identity has been Bruce Wayne, a billionaire businessman. . After witnessing the death of his parents in his childhood, he swears revenge and, after undergoing rigorous physical and mental training, he dedicates himself to fighting crime in Gotham City. In all of his appearances as Batman, Wayne disguises himself as a bat. Unlike other superheroes, he does not have superpowers but uses his intellect along with scientific and technological applications to create weapons and tools with which to catch criminals.
